Weekend with My Buddies

On last saturday I had a duty to brought 3 of my friends from UMS Malaysia to Mojokerto, I ask Ahong and Jono to come out with me. My malaysian friend will take on the job training course in PT. Multi Bintang Indonesia (MBI). The days before, Mr. Jadid as my lecturer ask me to bring them there by using Uber as our transportation. However, it may cost more than the budget that he given to me. Therefore I borrow Jono's car and luckily he also has a schedule in Mojokerto on that day, so we can go together. 

Following the instruction from Mr Jadid, I decide that our first destination is Mr Sutrisno house because it would be their inn for 1 month. After reach Mojokerto, we are looking for Mr. Sutrisno house which located near the factory and that's true, the home is next to the factory. The house looks fabulous, rocky road along the way, so many threes as far as i can see, and there is paddy field in front of the house. First look, the house has big door which can accomodate a buffalo. Get inside, a traditional housing style was presented with modern materials and furnitures. It has 8 bedrooms in first floor and 2 bedrooms in second floor, musholla, three bathroom and one kitchen as well. Room space is wide but there's only few furnitures. Each bedrooms has its own 2x2 window, fan, shelf, and bed. The two-way stairs is placed on the opposite of the bathroom. The bathroom is clean, wide, has big tube and shower. Dining room is located in the back, just right before the kitchen entry. 

After check the inn condition, I ask my Malaysian friends to fill the payment for 1 month to Mr. Sutrisno. I'm so worry about their further communication with the housekeeper, that's why I finish all of their administration fee on that day. Then we pray ashar together and have a conversation with Mr. Sutrisno and his family for a while. On the evening, Jono ask me, Ahong, and our Malaysian friends to join a dinner together with his family in a restaurant.

Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to Incheon International Airport

On my first day in Korea, i have my first step in the 2nd world's best airport, Incheon. Combined with misty scenery and Seoul warm temperature (around 200-22o celcius), that's really make my day. After take the baggage and dealing with airport imigration staff, i walk around inside the airport looking for the tourist information centre. Briefly, i feel excited with the airport interior design and unique architecture. Incheon has plenty of shops, restaurant, medical centre and an impressive devices like self-check in device. Moreover, the airport is very wide, clean, and has free wi-fi almost in every corner. For more details you can continue read the article below.

Airport Staff

Incheon has nice airport staff, they are so kind and friendly to the passengers. It also has "ask me" staff, they are functioned to be like mobile information centre. They usually said "annyeonghaseyo, dangsin-eun naege amugeosdo yocheonghal su iss seubnida" which literally means "hello, you can ask me anything". Sometimes, we could meet old man or old lady which wear blue plain jacket, the airport employed them as cleaning service. We may also meet some teenagers who is employed in Maglev and subway station inside the airport. If we have bad condition about our health, we could find medical staff in airport medical centre. They will offer services like check up, dental services, and emergencies.

Mobile and Internet Access

Incheon is so huge, but it has so many free wi-fi corner. Most of it named as "airport_wifi" and it has 6 mbps internet connection speed. Different with Hongkong Int' airport which need to login first to get an internet access, but at Incheon you don't need to do anything, just connect. The wi-fi service areas include passenger terminals and concourses, the fastest one is in Duty-free Area, Landside, Near Arrivals A and E (2nd floor); Airside, Near gates 14 and 30 (3rd floor). The free internet service is available everytime (day and night). Besides the internet access, Incheon also has free computers because they realize that everyone might not have or bring a laptop or smartphone to get the free wifi offered by the airport, so there are computers which free to used by everyone. So accommodating !

Airport Shop

In  glance, Incheon looks like a mall. It has so many shops inside, from the cheapest one like Lotteria (fast food restaurant) till the luxurious shop like Marient (clothing, souvenirs, and accessories shop). If you have so much time to spend, be sure to look around the shop inside the airport. Basically, Incheon has various kind of shop such as souvenirs shop, clothing shop, accessories shop, technology shop, mini market, etc.

1. Incheon always keep the sign read-able by the passengers, especially for the tourist because they put the multi-letter sign consist of hangul and alphabet, so we won't confused with the sign.

2. Incheon has movie theater so you can catch the latest Korean movies or Hollywood blockbuster at two of Incheon Airports movie theaters. Two might seem like too many, but it’s just awesome for me!

3. Incheon has golf course which located really, really close to the airport. Getting out in the sun and hitting a few balls make for a nice relaxing day. You can booking on www.sky72.com

4. Incheon has Spa and Sauna. If you’re on a lay over at Incheon Airport and have a few hours to spend, take a moment to relax at the spa. You can even sleep there so you won't get panda eye.

'Poro Calon Bapak' Gank Goes to Malang

One weeks ago, we have short trip in South Malang by visiting several tourist sites in 2 days. we have visited Bolu-bolu beach, Banyu Anjlok waterfall, and Lenggoksono beach. Both of them located adjacent and can be accessed at once using speed boat. Lenggoksono beach is the entrance beach before we lead to Bolu-bolu and Banyu Anjlok. Bolu-bolu beach well known as its swimming, snorkeling, and diving spot. While Banyu Anjlok is a waterfall which known as its panoramic water stream, it’s flow falls directly into the sea. 

Due the destination was new and still unpopular so the route was not easy. To go there we spent 5 hours through Sidoarjo, Pandaan, Pasuruan, and Malang city. When we reached Malang city, we still have to pass 30 km of forest road and 15 km of forest tracks. The road classified as mountain pass so it has steep slope around 30 to 35 degree and it's also has so many hairpin turn likes Col de Braus, the name of mountain pass in France. 

When we arrived in Lenggoksono beach we could find food stall, worship, snorkeling-diving rental, and resort. There will be some tour guide too. They will offer you to rent their diving and snorkeling equipment or using their boat. Based on my experience, we will asked to pay IDR 50.000 for each person. Each boat only allowed to take 10 persons. It’s included life vest and 3 tour guide who will help us along the trip. The boat can be rent started from 07.00 AM until the dusk time (around 17.00-18.00 PM). I personally suggest you to rent the boat in the morning, so you can enjoy their service all the day. 

Forestry Seminar

In 2005, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has characterized the deforestation situation over the world. They said that each year, thirteen million hectares of forest disappear from the earth due to human activity. In Indonesia we have lost our forest rapidly because of deforestation and local farmers activity.It makes the earth lost a lot of its carbon storage. Therefore, SIKLUS cooperate with Agency of Living Environment and Forestry held forestry project  named “Seminar Siklus Menghitung Karbon”.

The seminar held in Cangar-Batu for 2 days and followed by 200 participator from different university and instance. It have indoor and outdoor concept which is consist of 4 subject. We learn about forest, TAHURA (Taman Hutan Raya), watershed, etc. But mainly we discuss about forest protection and forest management. Forest protection includes any activities that protect and conserve native forest against pressure from forest clearing, fire and illegal logging. Forest management deals with activities that are designed to change technical forestry principles to manage and maintain a forest for timber production while maintaining the forest’s productive and renewal capacities, so the two activities that are included are reduced impact logging and stop logging. Depends on what we leard during the seminar, i think this seminar is so exciting and it was my first outdoor seminar. There is one thing else, on the second day we planted 200 Casuarina junghuniana at downhill of the mountain.  But unfortunately, our transportation delayed for 4 hours before we head back to Surabaya.

 

Bandung !!

Several weeks ago i went to bandung with my family. We took the greatest holiday in this year. My father got free trip to Bandung from his company. Unfortunately we only had three days, one day to arrived and the rest for vacation. We had 4 destination, consist of Kartikasari, Bandung Trans Studio, hotel and Halim Perdanakesuma Airport.

On the first day we arrived in Bandung, we spent our first hours to looking for some breakfast cause we arrived on dawn time. After had breakfast, we took aproximatelly 3 hours to our first destination, a souvenir shop called Jakeju-Kartikasari. When we arrived, many of passenger spent their time to bought  souvenir, food or even clothes. This place is well known among the Indonesians. This place sold a lot of traditional Indonesian snacks and cakes. I purchased pretty much and I have to admit that they are delicious. This place are also sold so many clothes here, including armwear, child’s clothing, coat, dressers, footwear, gowns, jackets, headgear, outerwear, sport’s outfit, skirts, trousers and shorts. But the fact I’m not purchased any clothes in this place. I purchased from another outlet called Yi’s Collection which located next to it. After that, we head back to hotel for rest before we went to Trans Studio at the evening.

We went to Trans Studio on Saturday, so tickets were slightly more expensive compared to weekdays. Hopefully i could went there and got limited ticket promo which the price was only half from the normal. It was an indoor theme park and actually bring different atmosphere. Most of the attractions are nice and enjoyable. But unlike some more established theme parks, it lacks of enthusiasm. I would appreciate beautiful cheerleaders clapping for me when I exit a ride. Or maybe a sign indicating when it was last maintained. Maybe creaky seats is the appeal for these rides. Well, overally I get it a miss. On the next day, we had to back to Surabaya, our flight takes off on the afternoon so we have to check out from the hotel at Sunday morning.
