QC Ranger

Good day readers! this time let me introduce you my colleagues. I usually call ourselves as QC ranger because there are six of us. We work together in Wingsfood as quality control in microbiology laboratory. We spend 7 hours per day in the laboratory. Our task is to prevent Microbial contaminants enter a biomanufacturing production system and impact the product outcomes.

We come from different education background, but many of us were graduated from biology department. Even though we study different field before but now we have to focus in specific field: food science, food technology, and industrial microbiology. Since our company is one of the large food company, so we must understand many products safety and standard.

During the weekday, we always take the quality time together. 1 day per week on every Wednesday. We usually playing badminton or futsal after work. We believe that it can be the great way to communicate and bond with the team. it can also boost our competitive spirit and motivate us to work better. After that we always have a dinner together in several unique places. Sometimes, we also have a vacation together every 2 or 3 months and we plan it seriously just like when we have to work, lol.

Last time (in this month) we went dinner to Ichi Sushi and Mie Akhirat which located in Gresik Kota Baru after playing badminton. We have the moment together for 4 hours including the workout. Not too much but that is what we call quality time. Telling any jokes or stories, sharing any experiences, taking some photos, that’s what we do. Seems so simple but it’s really satisfying life moment on the week.

Goodbye

Tonight I feel this thing (again).
The days passed, but I still can't control my feeling.
This song reminds me of my aunt.I love her so much.
For 22 years she raised me just like her own son.
She passed away several weeks ago. Leave me here without saying goodbye.
She loves this kind of song. An old song which sang by a couple of artist.

I know, the song can't replace her in my heart, not even once.
But at least, I just want to remember her through this song.

Happy Eid Mubarak

Idul Fitri is the special day for moslem in my country. Everyone’s always waiting for it and prepare lot of things to do during the day when it comes. We celebrate the moment with our families and neighbours. In the morning we start the day with eid prayer or well-known as shalat eid. After perform the shalat, we come back to our home and meet our family to ask for forgiveness. Started with our family, our neighbours, our friends or maybe everyone that we have ever meet before. ‘Cause in this day we believe that Allah (moslem’s God) will bless us just if we realize our sins in the past.

In my family tradition, we have some things to do during the day. We wake up in the morning to take a bath and wear clean clothes to perform shalat shubuh (fajr). After that, we go to the nearest mosque or field to perform shalat eid together with the other moslems and listen to the khutbah (speech). When we have done the shalat, we come back to our home and ask for forgiveness to our parents. Then we have breakfast together as a small family. A hours later when we ensure that everybody’s come from the shalat eid, we visit our neighbours one by one to greet them and ask for forgiveness. Not only with the other moslem, but also with our non-moslem neighbours. If we can’t ask for forgiveness directly, we usually ask for forgiveness by phone or just send them a message.

'Poro Calon Bapak' Gank Goes to Malang

One weeks ago, we have short trip in South Malang by visiting several tourist sites in 2 days. we have visited Bolu-bolu beach, Banyu Anjlok waterfall, and Lenggoksono beach. Both of them located adjacent and can be accessed at once using speed boat. Lenggoksono beach is the entrance beach before we lead to Bolu-bolu and Banyu Anjlok. Bolu-bolu beach well known as its swimming, snorkeling, and diving spot. While Banyu Anjlok is a waterfall which known as its panoramic water stream, it’s flow falls directly into the sea.

Due the destination was new and still unpopular so the route was not easy. To go there we spent 5 hours through Sidoarjo, Pandaan, Pasuruan, and Malang city. When we reached Malang city, we still have to pass 30 km of forest road and 15 km of forest tracks. The road classified as mountain pass so it has steep slope around 30 to 35 degree and it's also has so many hairpin turn likes Col de Braus, the name of mountain pass in France.

When we arrived in Lenggoksono beach we could find food stall, worship, snorkeling-diving rental, and resort. There will be some tour guide too. They will offer you to rent their diving and snorkeling equipment or using their boat. Based on my experience, we will asked to pay IDR 50.000 for each person. Each boat only allowed to take 10 persons. It’s included life vest and 3 tour guide who will help us along the trip. The boat can be rent started from 07.00 AM until the dusk time (around 17.00-18.00 PM). I personally suggest you to rent the boat in the morning, so you can enjoy their service all the day.

A Bitter Day

I have two dear friends who passed  several month ago, Nyimas Fatimah Anggreani and Dani Umar Azis. They passed away unexpectedly, and  rather suddenly. They had traffic accident on the way they back from their trip in Jogja, such a bitter day for me.

For few days, i couldn’t believe that they passed away so quickly. Sometimes, I feel that they were here, still around me.  Remember when they often cheer me up when i got some troubles, get jerk joke on me, have some journey, and all of the crazy things that we spent together.

After all, I feels lucky that i have known them. Not as my friend, but my family. Now, I feel so happy for them. They may have better place right now. Looking on me from up there somewhere. I’m glad that they are still couples, forever after.

Even if i have grown up someday, our memories will keep in my mind, always.

Bandung !!

Several weeks ago i went to bandung with my family. We took the greatest holiday in this year. My father got free trip to Bandung from his company. Unfortunately we only had three days, one day to arrived and the rest for vacation. We had 4 destination, consist of Kartikasari, Bandung Trans Studio, hotel and Halim Perdanakesuma Airport.

On the first day we arrived in Bandung, we spent our first hours to looking for some breakfast cause we arrived on dawn time. After had breakfast, we took aproximatelly 3 hours to our first destination, a souvenir shop called Jakeju-Kartikasari. When we arrived, many of passenger spent their time to bought  souvenir, food or even clothes. This place is well known among the Indonesians. This place sold a lot of traditional Indonesian snacks and cakes. I purchased pretty much and I have to admit that they are delicious. This place are also sold so many clothes here, including armwear, child’s clothing, coat, dressers, footwear, gowns, jackets, headgear, outerwear, sport’s outfit, skirts, trousers and shorts. But the fact I’m not purchased any clothes in this place. I purchased from another outlet called Yi’s Collection which located next to it. After that, we head back to hotel for rest before we went to Trans Studio at the evening.

We went to Trans Studio on Saturday, so tickets were slightly more expensive compared to weekdays. Hopefully i could went there and got limited ticket promo which the price was only half from the normal. It was an indoor theme park and actually bring different atmosphere. Most of the attractions are nice and enjoyable. But unlike some more established theme parks, it lacks of enthusiasm. I would appreciate beautiful cheerleaders clapping for me when I exit a ride. Or maybe a sign indicating when it was last maintained. Maybe creaky seats is the appeal for these rides. Well, overally I get it a miss. On the next day, we had to back to Surabaya, our flight takes off on the afternoon so we have to check out from the hotel at Sunday morning.

Yogyakarta !

A little bit surprised when received the invitation (around four months before the wedding), it’s not like another invitation but it’s electronic invitation #lewl, my family was invited from Blackberry Messenger cause we were separated by long distance with my caousin’s family. Her name was Ririn, I know a lot about her and she often help me when i were travelling just like 9 months ago when I went to Thailand. Since she is older than me, she always told me and gave me an advice and suggestion about everything. Back to the invitation letter, after I received it then check the date and decide if i would go or not by asking my parents.

When I went to Yogyakarta, there is so many schedule which i have to finished early because on the 4th day I have to go back to Surabaya (I have another business in there). For three days, I must visit my great-grandma’s home at Kulon Progo on Friday, visit Tembi Rumah Budaya, Trisek Beach and Malioboro on Saturday, visit uncle Dayat home on Sunday morning, attend Ririn’s wedding party on Sunday afternoon, and head back to Surabaya on Monday.

Great-grandma’s Home, Home sweet home.
My Great-grandma’s home located in Bantul, precisely in Kulon Progo village. It is located near Trisek beach, on map you will found it near the Parang Tritis beach. I spent around 3 hours trip from the central city of Yogyakarta to reach this place. There are few homes here, as far as the eye could see, I only see huge rice field and Bengawan river because that river disembogue at the Southern Sea which is located in the tip of Bantul district. Did you know, one things that I like from my great-grandma’s home is there is so many animal, like cow, sheep, duck and chicken. I always imagine that if I were in Harvest moon real act. Play with em, raise em, feeding em, and take a pict of em. So much funny i think. On my great-grandma’s farm, it is important to have people who have a real passion for animal care (just like me #haha) to raise these animals especially the cows that are calm by nature.

Tembi Rumah Budaya
On Saturday morning, we went to Tembi rumah budaya. It is far enough from Kulon Progo. Aproximatelly, we need 2 hours trip to go there. Tembi was a great place, actually it was a hotel but during the beautiful view of this place so Tembi well-known as one of tourism spot in Yogyakarta. Tembi consist of lovely javanese architecture, exactly from the room, parking area, yard, until the main building. The meals were included in the room reservation price so you dont have to pay separately for the food, but the choice was limited, they just have Indonesian food. So what have i do in this place? Just taking some photos and looking around the building.

Sunset in Trisek Beach
In the evening, we went to Trisek beach which located only 1 Km from my grand-grandma’s home. This beach is so beautiful but not crowd enough since it have a huge waves and peoples think that the waves was come from the local myth figures called Nyai Roro Kidul. So that i did not find any person who plays near the seashore. I took some photos of me and my cousins, write-down some word on the sands, and of course looking at the sunset, that was my main objectives to be there. We head back on maghrib time.

Malioboro Street
When I was child, i ever thinking of Malioboro (name of the street) and Marlboro (name of the cigarette) was the same things, I think that two things relate each other. My mind keep rolling to thinking that “Marlboro was a cigarette which created in Malioboro street”. After i got my driver license I could go to this street to make a certain that there is no cigarette factory along this street. It is not my first time to visited this place, I have went to this place for several times until i have forget about how many it is. On that Saturday night, I went to Malioboro with my cousins and my little brother. We looking for a beautiful night view of Yogyakarta. Besides, I wanna bought some shirt and boy bracelet. We spent 7 hours in Malioboro, started from 19.00 PM until 02.00 AM. Of course that is not dangerous for us since we’re boys, we wont kidnapped by anyone.

Uncle Dayat’s Home
Truthfully, he’s not my uncle. He was my mother’s uncle so I should call him grandpa. But because everyone call him uncle so i also used to call him uncle. His home located near Kulon Progo but i forgot about his address. Look briefly, his home just like a minimarket. Yes, he is a merchant and since childhood he was educated to be businessman, so that why he have his own store. In the back of his store there is a garden which surrounding his home. Well, i dont have any business with uncle Dayat except religious gatherings, different with my parents which wanna take a look of uncle health.

The Wedding
When  talk about wedding, it always followed by the local culture. In Yogyakarta, especially on my cousin’s wedding party there is some ritual too. As I known there is Siraman. The word siraman is derived from the root siram which means ‘to bathe’. Thus siraman means to bathe both the bride and the groom, with the will to purify them so that they can be clean and pure physically and spiritually. The water used for Siraman is taken from seven springs located around the Palace. The water will added with kembang setaman (i forget what is kembang setaman consist of), plaits of various flowers. This water will then be used to bathe the bride. The first one to bathe the bride is her mother, followed by the other elders.

After being bathed, the bride will take ablution using the water placed in a pottery. The pottery will be thrown until it breaks out in front of the bride. The crashing of the pottery symbolizes the concept of pecah pamor, which means the revelation of the bride’s charm. It implies an expectation that the bride will be even more beautiful and turns out mangling (making people fail to recognize her due to her extravagant beauty).

Finished with the bathing, the ritual is continued with putting make-ups on the bride. One of the things to do in the make-up is shaving fine hair on the bride’s forehead. This symbolizes self-purification from negative aspects. The whole process of Siraman will be carried out by women. This is to honor the women who have taken good care of their children. The Siraman ritual is carried out as a symbol of self-purification. Getting married is seen as entering a new phase of life, so that through Siraman it is expected that the bride and the groom will be purified either physically or spiritually.

The next step is Akad Nikah, Akad Nikah will be concluded with the groom doing sungkem to the bride parents, who will have taken down and put the keris which bringing earlier behind him. It symbolizes the groom’s request for blessings from and respect for the bride parents as he is officially a husband to his daughter now.
